Location data (and optionally elevation, time, and other information) is stored in tags and can be interchanged between GPS devices and software. The track should show up and look something like this. Select the GPS viewing app you want to open the file. From this drop-down menu, select Download Route to save the GPX file onto your computer. Ideally I'd like to download or email them the Gpx file of the route, which they can then import onto their phones, then use that phone to Navigate.
